California Spring Classic 2012 Scratch Classic Rules

  1. The Scratch Classic, in conjunction with the California Spring Classic, is a mixed competition open to men and women by invitation only. The entry fees and required averages are as follows:
  1. All competition will be held at Fountain Bowl in Fountain Valley, California on Sunday, April 29, 2012. The competition will begin at 8:30 A.M. for all divisions. Bowlers must check in by 8:00 A.M. or the bowler will be disqualified and the alternate used.

  2. The nine (9) game scratch totals from the CSC are used to determine the eight (8) qualifiers and one (1) alternate for the round robin (match games) competition. If a tie exists for the 8th place, the bowler with highest scratch three (3) game series will advance. Scores do not carry over.

  3. Each qualifier will bowl one (1) match against each of the other seven (7) qualifiers and a final position match. The winner of each match will receive 30 bonus pins added to his/her score. The loser will receive zero (0). In case of tie, 15 bonus pins will be added to each bowler's score.

  4. A lane schedule will be given to each bowler at time of check-in. This will list what lane each bowler is to bowl on for each of the seven (7) matches. The final match is determined by position. The leader will draw for the first lane. All other positions will line up against the leader lane.

  5. Bowlers are allowed 10 minutes of practice before the first match. Bowlers are allowed 2 practice balls on each lane between the stepladder matches. No other practice is allowed.

  6. The highest four (4) bowlers from the match game competition will advance to the finals, with bowler 4 against bowler 3, the winner versus bowler 2 and that winner versus bowler 1. No bonus pins will be awarded, and no carry over from the match game competition. If a tie exists during any game of the step ladder finals, a 9th and 10th game roll off will determine the winner to advance.

  7. Any claims of error in the competition must be reported before the start of the next match. In the final match, any claims of error must be reported within fifteen (15) minutes after the end of the final match.
